A handshake still means something here.
Brown's came to West Branch in 2013 by purchasing Thein Motor Sales from longtime local owner Todd Thein.
Todd and his team knew their guests, and their guests knew them. They kept their word, helped people through the decisions that came with owning a vehicle, and built relationships that lasted well beyond one sale.
That way of doing business felt familiar to Brown's. The name changed, but the value of a familiar face, a clear answer, and people who remain available after the sale did not. Todd remains a valued longtime guest and supporter of Brown's West Branch.

Our new inventory can include Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager models, Dodge Charger and Durango, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Compass and Gladiator, and Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 and ProMaster vehicles. Selection changes, and we also carry used cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs from many manufacturers.

Our next West Branch home
One new home for both West Branch stores.
Brown's West Branch CDJR is open now at 205 Tidewater Drive. We plan to move just down the road to our new facility at 305 Tidewater Drive in mid-August 2026.
The new building will put our Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram store and our Ford store under one roof. Each side will have its own dedicated sales and service areas, while both teams will gain more room, better equipment, and an easier way to help one another when a guest needs something from across the building.
This CDJR store became part of Brown's in 2013. Brown's later purchased West Branch Ford from Brad Larson in 2021. Bringing the stores together is the next chapter for two local teams that were built by knowing their guests, standing behind their word, and being here after the sale.
The facility will have 18 total service bays, updated equipment and technology, improved guest amenities, and more space for both teams. The address will change. The familiar faces and straightforward way we take care of people will not.

Dealer Principal
Forest is the second generation of the family business Dave Brown began. He is hands-on with the West Branch operation, makes time for employees and guests, and listens before the dealership makes long-term decisions. Staying accessible helps him keep those decisions connected to the people and community they affect.
Jason Waterman
Managing Partner
Jason helps guide the dealership day to day. He knows the people in each department, stays involved in the choices that shape a guest's experience, and helps the sales, service, and parts teams work toward the same answer.

The Brown's CDJR story
How Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram became part of the family.
Brown's began with one Ford store, but the family's connection to Chrysler and Dodge reaches back more than 40 years. West Branch added a community and a team whose way of taking care of people already felt at home within Brown's.
1964
Brown's begins in Guttenberg
At age 24, Dave Brown was awarded the Ford franchise in Guttenberg, Iowa. At that time, he was the youngest person to be awarded a Ford franchise.
1985
Dodge joins the family
Brown's purchased Dittmer Dodge from Jack Dittmer, bringing Ford and Dodge together in the family's Guttenberg dealership.
1986
Chrysler and Plymouth are added
The Chrysler and Plymouth franchises joined the Guttenberg store, broadening the family's connection to the brands now represented by Brown's CDJR dealerships.
2013
Brown's comes to West Branch
Brown's purchased Thein Motor Sales from Todd Thein and renamed the store Brown's West Branch. The dealership continued representing Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram with the same relationship-first spirit guests already knew.
2016
The Hometown Victory Foundation is created
The Brown's Hometown Victory Foundation was established to carry the family's community commitment beyond the dealership walls.
2021
West Branch Ford joins Brown's
Brown's purchased West Branch Ford from Brad Larson. The Radford family, Brad, and longtime employees had built their own small-town relationships, giving Brown's two West Branch stores with much in common.
2026
The West Branch teams come together
The planned facility at 305 Tidewater Drive will bring the CDJR and Ford stores under one roof with dedicated franchise areas, 18 total service bays, and more room to serve guests.
